Chapter 96: The Swelling Power, Song of Ice and Fire
What surged out from the steps above were all physical entities. After entering the Thirteen Steps, it was like stepping into an Alternate Dimension. This place was unlike any Game Level before.
No longer Spirit Forms, no longer attacks on the mental level, but actual vengeful spirits and demons—winged, horned, with bodies stitched together from various animals.
Since the start of the Chosen’s Paradise, this was the first time a Game Scene had completely detached from reality, from the human world.
It was as if the players had suddenly stepped out of the understandable scope of human comprehension and entered a whole new domain.
The world had only witnessed three games so far. The spectators weren’t mentally prepared to see something like this.
【: This is a bit too supernatural, don’t you think?】
【: Nah, it’s pure combat. This Level doesn’t even seem to have any puzzles. So doesn’t that mean once you enter, you’re basically guaranteed to die?】
【: I just feel it’s unfair. If this Challenge Game includes a Horror Mystery like this, doesn’t that mean Park Bu Seong is guaranteed to win?】
The tone of the discussion instantly shifted, and people began to worry about “Sin’s” performance.
But as he wailed, he slowly started to realize—it didn’t hurt as much anymore.
The flesh around the severed arm began to gather and congeal, forming a lump of muscle that actually started growing again.
Park Bu Seong stared at his body in shock, clenching his fist tightly and feeling the violent, tyrannical strength surging inside him. His heart filled with wild joy.
Is this... my body?
Is this the power I possess!?
The red demon Park Bu Seong had turned into lowered his head, looking at his completely altered body. There was a hint of unease in his eyes, even some fear.
But the overwhelming sensation of power quickly made him forget all of that. He was intoxicated by it.
His height had already soared to three and a half meters. Looking down at the short and small “Sin,” a surge of confidence rose in him.
Most of the demons in this Subspace had already emerged. From the start, the staircase had been auto-folding to adapt and had expanded greatly.
But under the piling up of dozens of gigantic demon bodies, even the expanded stairway felt tight and cramped.
One head extending from the wall alone was nearly two meters in diameter. Its deformed, mutated mouth was dripping with green and yellow saliva.
In the midst of these massive demons, “Sin’s” lone human body looked pitifully small, like a leaf in a stormy sea, completely isolated.
Yet his presence felt like a black hole. Everything in the surrounding space seemed to be spiraling toward him, crushed by an overwhelming force.
—That was the aura of Wrath.
Every single demon exuded a sense of ominous dread—enough to shatter a person's sanity and drive them mad. Even spectators watching from another world through their screens began to feel physically unwell.
But all of it served as fuel for Wrath.
The pale green mask flickered with frenzied, mosaic-like patterns. “Sin” stood silently.
And beneath the mask, his rationality was quickly slipping away. Surrounded by these giant demons, he felt like he had entered his comfort zone.
“Haha... hahahahaha!”
On the other side, Park Bu Seong, whose power had swelled to the extreme, suddenly burst out laughing. He suddenly thought he had been so stupid before. All that caution, all that talk of being the world’s number one—how could he possibly lose with this kind of power!?
With his strength multiplied dozens of times, he was completely lost to it. With just a light touch, the entire row of railings beside him collapsed.
As weightless as feathers, without a hint of substance.
“Have you decided how you want to die, Sin!?”
In the Subspace stairway, Park Bu Seong opened his gaping bloody maw and roared at Lu Ce.
Power makes people lose themselves—especially this kind of temporary power.
When he first broke through the Genetic Lock and received powerful Stat Allocation, Lu Ce had also become swollen with pride—except, Park Bu Seong was dumber.
“I’ll kill you...”
By now, Park Bu Seong’s mind was clearly unstable. The red demon’s torn mouth revealed rows of sharp teeth, the original ones shattered. Blood and spit drooled out unconsciously.
His consciousness was no longer clear. In the face of the demon's assimilation, his mind was as fragile as paper.
The wind howled. His enormous body stirred up a terrifying gust as the demonified Park Bu Seong charged at Lu Ce, the remaining arm suddenly swinging forward.
His arm moved like a roaring flail, slamming toward “Sin.”
But Lu Ce charged forward too—no retreat, no hesitation. He didn’t bother to test the opponent’s strength and went in for a head-on clash!
Both attacked without knowing the other’s full power—but for completely different reasons.
Lu Ce was simply too fast. He struck after Park Bu Seong, yet arrived first. Before the other’s punch could fully extend, their fists collided.
Fist to fist!
Boom!
First, a missile-like explosion. The air around their fists erupted into white-hot steam, and an invisible shockwave blasted outward.
The shockwave sent debris flying to both sides, just like a missile strike scene in a movie. It was hard to imagine such a sound could come from two human-shaped bodies.
Crack!
Then came a strange sound. Out of the corner of his eye, Park Bu Seong saw his shoulder bulge outward!
His entire arm went numb, with sharp pain radiating from the shoulder. Clearly, it had been dislocated by immense force.
“You...”
His red eyes instantly lit up with disbelief. Only now did he realize what terrifying power this man in front of him truly possessed.
The sheer horror of the moment even stunned the surrounding demons. The air went still, and the low, unconscious murmuring from their mouths weakened.
Lu Ce lifted his head. From the pale green mask, black smoke was starting to seep out.
“I sincerely hope... you all have the ability to kill me.”
The next second, his fist turned into a palm, grabbing Park Bu Seong’s massive fist and twisting it hard.
Snap! Crackle! Like firecrackers going off, the entire demon arm twisted like a wrung towel, its once-orderly muscles now violently contorted.
Blood sprayed outward like it was being squeezed from a soaked rag.
Park Bu Seong let out a scream no longer human, and at the same time, the phantom of a giant book slowly unfolded behind him.
Legendary Weapon—All-Seeing Eye: Song of Ice and Fire!
